Let's find a cure for blood cancer!
I am beyond excited to announce that I will be a part of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS), “Students of the Year” campaign. Students of the Year is a seven-week fundraising competition for high school students. It is a chance for students to raise funds in the hopes of finding a cure for patients with blood cancer. The competition starts on January 25, 2020 and ends March 13, 2020. Our team has a mission of raising $20,000 in hopes of being one step closer to finding a cure!
Since 1964, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society has helped to find cures for blood cancers. Survival rates have continued to multiply since the 1960’s. For about 70 years, LLS has invested more than $1 billion to advance cancer therapies and save lives. Many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients, but are now approved to treat patients with rare forms of autoimmune diseases. Some of these therapies are even being tested on other forms of cancer.
I was interested in joining this campaign because I know that cancer can negatively impact people’s lives and I want to help make a difference. I realize how fortunate I am to be able to do so many things that are normally taken for granted. I am able to go to school, spend time with my friends, and participate in many activities while the people who are diagnosed with blood cancer might not be able to. By participating in this program, I can honor my maternal grandmother who died many years ago from cancer. I can also support the many people around the world who are diagnosed with cancer, like my grandma was, by raising money to help save their life!
With your help, we can make a difference in many people’s lives by donating money to LLS to find a cure for blood cancers. Remember, every penny counts! If you would like to make an online donation please donate through this website on my page. If you would like to donate through the mail, please make your check payable to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society using the enclosed, pre-addressed envelope. Please print our team name, “Solon Smacks Down Cancer”, in the memo section. Your donations are tax-deductible.
All donations, no matter how big or how small, will help us in the fight against blood cancers and reach our goal of $20,000. For more information, please feel free to contact me at isabelleglevy@gmail.com or 216-990-2494!
Sincerely,
Isabelle Levy & Team Solon Smacks Down Cancer
Welcome to Isabelle Levy's SOY Fundraising Page!
I am honored to participate as a candidate for the 2020 Students of the Year program, a seven-week initiative in which select high school students from around the country participate in a fundraising competition to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I am proud to support LLS and am raising critical dollars in honor of a young patient hero who is currently battling or is in remission from a blood cancer. Each dollar is a vote. The candidate team that raises the most money at the end of the seven weeks is named Student of the Year. Our mission is to not only raise the most money but also to bring attention to blood cancers like leukemia, which is the most common form of cancer in children and teens.
Since the early 1960s, five-year survival rates for many blood cancer patients have doubled, tripled or even quadrupled. And many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are helping patients with other cancers and serious diseases. In fact, drugs first approved for blood cancers are now approved to treat patients with stomach cancers, skin cancers, and autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis.
We really are changing the face of blood cancer!
All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS-funded research but will help provide critical information and support for patients, and support advocacy for laws to ensure patients can access the care and treatments they need.
Please visit our website often and bring friends who would also like to donate!
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support!
