Dear Friends and Family,

My name is Lily Seeman. I go to Laurel School for girls. I participate in lacrosse, have a job, and am dedicated to volunteering. Growing up, I had a good family friend that was diagnosed with cancer named Mike. His cough suddenly turned into stage 4 lung cancer. He was very close to me and the experience of chemotherapy, long doctors visits, and him deteriorating day by day exposed me to how terrible this disease is. I spent as many weeks with Mike as I could because ultimately he was in stage 4 and he was getting worse. Mike's death impacted my life in several ways but ultimately motivated me to want to make a difference in the cancer community.

Two years ago, I suddenly lost my dog, Cooper, to Lymphoma. His stomach bug turned into him not eating, then to several doctors visits. Cooper was diagnosed with terminal Lymphoma and my parents were faced with a difficult decision to either put him down or to keep him alive for another year, but Cooper would not be 100%. They decided to put him down which was very traumatic for our whole family, but we did not want him to be miserable. 

I've always wanted to make a difference for something I feel so strongly about and I believe fighting back through campaigning to raise money for research is making a difference for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. When I joined the Leukemia Lymphoma Society 2 years ago as a team member, I knew I wanted to run as a candidate the following year because the experience of raising money to benefit the honored hero of the year was so rewarding in the end. 

This year, I am a co-candidate with Cassie Trykoff. We are Team Hope! We are striving to make a difference and to raise as much money as possible! Our goal is $75,000! On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere I thank you for your support! 

Together, we really are changing the face of blood cancer!

All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS-funded research but will help provide critical information and support for patients, and support advocacy for laws to ensure patients can access the care and treatments they need.
