Team Straight Outta Chemo's Co-Candidates Ben Malek from St. Francis de Sales School and Cimran Naik from Notre Dame Academy! The Team Members are Hana El Nemr, Siona Naik, Aameera Haris, Anthony Syeh, Anna Harms, Ally Westmeyer, and Jonathan Sayer. The team is proud to say that they are taking part in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Students of the Year Campaign! Students of the Year, or SOY, is a 7-week philanthropic leadership initiative among high school student-led teams, in which the teams compete to raise the most funds for the LLS. All of the money raised goes towards blood cancer patients and their families, as well as research for leukemia, lymphoma, and many other types of cancers. Last year, in the Toledo SOY Campaign alone, these teams raised over $292,000 for the advancement of blood cancer treatment!

This year, Team Straight Outta Chemo is striving every day of the short 7-week campaign to raise at least $20,000 for the LLS! However, they need your help to reach that goal. Take a moment to think about someone you know or love who has been affected by cancer, possibly a blood cancer. Think about how that upended their life, their family’s life, and your life. Maybe that person beat their cancer, and maybe they lost the grueling battle. That is what the LLS and the team is eager to change. The LLS’s mission is to cure all blood cancers and to improve the lives of patients and their families, and the students on Team Straight Outta Chemo are hoping you will consider helping them further that mission.

The team would be more than grateful if you would consider making a donation to their campaign! Remember, all of the funds raised go towards blood cancer research, patients, and their families - and towards helping them WIN the title of LLS Students of the Year!
