Hello, my name is Kennedy Coleman and I am a senior at St. Ursula Academy. I am currently a member of student council, National Honor Society and the campus ministry core team.  In addition, I have the privilege of  teaching dance to people with disabilities at iDance and  preparing and serving meals to the impoverished of Toledo through Labre.  In my free time, I enjoy being a part of the school musical, St. Patrick of Heatherdowns service group Champions in Action, St. Ursula Academy’s Ambassador Society and the St. Ursula varsity lacrosse team. While I am proud to be involved in all of these things, I am most proud of my candidacy for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Student of the Year.

From January 16, 2020 through March 6, 2020, I will be competing against other local high school students to raise the most money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is the largest nonprofit dedicated to creating a world without blood cancers,  investing $1.3 billion in research since 1949. I believe that supporting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is so important because every 3 minutes someone is diagnosed with a blood cancer and every 9 minutes someone dies from one. The money that is raised for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, by all of the candidates, will help to offset costs for patients and their families and will be earmarked to fund more research. My goal is to raise $40,000 in 7 weeks.  That is a lot of money to raise in a short time. This is where your help would be appreciated!

All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS-funded research but will help provide critical information and support for patients, and support advocacy for laws to ensure patients can access the care and treatments they need.
