Welcome to Sweat For LLS!!!

Apr 29, 2020

We are a group of student athletes asking you for your support of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) mission to find cures for blood cancers and to help patients and families who have to battle through these diseases. All of the money we raise will go directly to LLS in support of its well established mission to ensure patients get the treatment and support that they need. Leukemia is the leading cause of death in children under the age of 20 suffering from cancer.

WE INVITE YOU TO JOIN US AND RUN, WALK, BIKE, JOG, ROW, OR ROLL IN A 5K WITH US!!!

POST A PICTURE OF YOU DOING THE 5K (OR AS MUCH ACTIVITY AS YOU CAN) AND TAG US WITH #SWEATFORLLS

NOMINATE FRIENDS TO TAKE THE CHALLENGE WITH YOU!

The reasoning behind ourselves hosting and participating in this 5k is due to the fact that one of our friends survived the long and arduous battle fighting leukemia after being diagnosed when she was only seven years old. However, her chemotherapy and radiation treatments left her with chronic symptoms like an abnormal migraine condition and the joints of a seventy year old (she is seventeen). She has even had to quit dance.

Another one of our friends was just diagnosed with lymphoma a few weeks ago.

During this unprecedented time, now more than ever, cancer patients need our help! Cancer does not adhere to quarantine regulations, and it does not take a break. It is relentless.

But together, we can END THE FIGHT!

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s mission is to find a cure for blood cancers through their extensive research. Since the early 1960s, five-year survival rates for many blood cancer patients have doubled, tripled or even quadrupled, and many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients, but are helping patients with other cancers and serious diseases as well. In fact, drugs first approved for blood cancers are now approved to treat patients with stomach cancers, skin cancers, and autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis. LLS helped advance 34 out of the 39 blood cancer treatment options approved by the FDA in 2017 and 2018.

We really are changing the face of blood cancer!

All donations are greatly appreciated! They'll not only support LLS-funded research but will help provide critical information and support for patients and support advocacy for laws to ensure patients can access the care and treatments they need.

Please visit our website often and bring friends who would also like to donate!

Also, please follow us on Instagram (@Sweat_For_LLS) and Twitter (@SweatForLLS) to stay up to date on our challenge!

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support!
