Due to the donations given to the LLS Student Visionaries in 2023-2024, over 3 million dollars were raised to fight cancer! I would like to give all my thanks for every single donation given small or large! I greatly appreciate the effort and kindness that my campagin received. Thank you and I to see you next year! 

  Hi, my name is Sydney Suma! I am in 10th grade at Robinson Secondary School, a swimmer, and a band member! Along with that, I am a team member with Rams for a Cure. Our team is committed to raising $75,000 for LLS's mission. Our fundraising will take place from January 27th until March 16th. I learned about this campaign through my mom's support of previous teams and knew I wanted to help. My inspiration for joining the team is my mom and my Lola. In 2012 and 2016 my mom had Grey Zone Lymphoma. She had been very healthy and lived a normal life until then, and the diagnosis threw our lives for a loop. She was able to recover and our family moved to Africa where we were supposed to stay for a couple years. On a summer visit back to the US in 2016, my mom was diagnosed with Grey Zone Lymphoma again. We weren't able to move back to our home and stayed in the US for treatment. During this point, my grandparents played huge roles in helping raise my brother and me. My mom was able to make a full recovery and has been cancer-free for 7 years! She is a teacher in the community, and an amazing mom, and without the help given to her by treatments ( that LLS contributes to!), she would not be here today. My Lola is the most loving, supportive, and one of the strongest women I know. She has committed her life to helping people by constantly showing her love, being a nurse for 58 years, and having the best cooking for everybody! In 2017 she was diagnosed with stage three lung cancer and it progressed to stage four in 2019. My Lola has continued to fight and is a role model for me everyday. 

In honor of my mom and Lola, my goal is to raise $2,500 and bring awareness to LLS. I look forward to the day future generations will not have to lose the ones they love to cancer.
