Get to Know Me!
My name is Jessica Raman, and I am a sophomore at The Potomac School in McLean, Virginia. In my free time, I enjoy cooking and baking, going for walks or runs, and reading. I write for the student newspaper at school, and I'm on the cross country and track teams. I am participating in this campaign in honor of anyone who has been affected by cancer in any way. I hope that raising money for LLS will help make the world a better place. If you're curious about my team, check out the post below!
Get to Know Team Answers for Cancers!
Team Answers for Cancers consists of 10 sophomores from The Potomac School in Mclean, Virginia. We are led by candidates Ella Lu, Sahil Sardar, and Wyatt Pearce! We are all so excited to be raising money to help people in our community and beyond.
Answers for Cancers: Science
My team, "Answers for Cancers", is working to raise as much money as we can to help fund the fight against cancer. One fundamental element in the fight against cancer is science, and scientific research. Much of the money we collect will be but towards research, one of the three pillars of LLS. As a student sceintist myself, I know how important science is, especially in terms of cancer, and how neccesary it is to fund scientists who are conducting research in this ever-changing field. If you're intersted in the sceince behind cancer research, feel free to check out the infographic below!

Visionaries look to the future—and see infinite possibility.
They challenge the status quo—and make the impossible possible.
They boldly imagine a better world – and lead the charge to create it.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society was built on that same vision - of a better world - one without blood cancers.
I am a visionary; I have a vision for a world without cancer, but I need your help.
This year, I’m proud to be a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign, working to raise as much as possible for LLS’s mission.
As a global leader in the fight against blood cancer, LLS:
- Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients
- Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
- Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.
Please consider joining this fight by making a donation. All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. Please visit my website often and tell friends who would also like to donate!
Thanks to your support, my efforts will help ensure this generation is the last to see cancer.
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you!

Dear Jessica, It always makes me feel good when I see people doing something that shows that they care about other human beings. Therefore, I am happy to make a contribution to the cause that you believe in - the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Hopefully, Louis and I will see you, Eily and Anand when we come for our annual visit in November. With love, Arnie
