Welcome to my fundraising page!! My name is Sarah Pan (daughter of Eric Pan and Liz Wilcox), and I am a junior at National Cathedral School in Washington, DC. This year, I am proud to be a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign as one of the candidates on the Close Conquers Cancer team, working to raise as much as possible for LLS's mission, which is to find a cure for blood cancers. While I have not personally had someone in my life who has had a blood cancer, I have had members of my family and family friends who have had other types of cancer. For example, I was never able to meet one of my grandfathers because he passed from cancer before I was born. The fight to cure all cancers is very important to me, and raising funds for the LLS is an ideal way for me to contribute to this broader effort. For example, about forty percent of the currently approved treatments for all types of cancer started as therapies originally designed to treat blood cancers.

As a global leader in the fight against blood cancer, LLS:

    Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients.
    Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
    Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.
