Kate Ryan | Closer To A Cure

Kate's Student Visionaries of the Year Washington DC Fundraiser

Feb 07, 2024

Hi! My name is Kate Ryan and I’m proud to be a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year 2024 Campaign, working to raise as much as possible for LLS’s mission. Over the next 7 weeks, I will be fundraising to support the incredible work of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and it's mission to cure blood cancers.

As a global leader in the fight against blood cancer, LLS:

  • Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients
  • Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
  • Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.

I am fundraising in honor of my grandparents who have suffered the devastating effects of cancer. Knowing how cancer affected my grandparents and the community around them has motivated me to raise funds and advocate for all those who are affected.

My personal goal is to raise $5,000 between January 13th and March 2nd. It’s a lofty goal, but I am willing to work hard to reach it. I cannot do it alone; I need your help! There are a few ways you can support my fundraising efforts:

1. Donate via my personal fundraising page.

2. Share my message & fundraising link with your contacts via email or social media

3. Help me secure a corporate sponsorship (Corporate partnership opportunities start at $500 and come with recognition and marketing benefits based on the level)

Please consider joining this fight by making a donation. All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. Please visit my website often and tell friends who would also like to donate!

Thanks to your support, my efforts will help ensure this generation is the last to see cancer.

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you!

Nice work Kate. My dad was an oncologist and hematologist and treated patients with leukemia and other blood diseases. Thanks for your efforts to find a cure.
