Paddy McCarthy | Team Banking on a Cure
Paddy's Student Visionaries of the Year Fundraiser
Hi, my name is Padraig McCarthy and I am a 17-year-old high school student at Bishop O'Connell High School. I am passionate about giving back to my community and making a difference in the world, especially when it comes to fighting cancer. Unfortunately, cancer has touched my family in a very personal way as my mother's sister, Tara, passed away from the disease, leaving her ten month old daughter and my cousin Molly. Watching my family struggle with the loss of a daughter, a sister and a mother is a difficult experience for me and it has inspired me to do something to help others facing similar challenges. That's why I've decided to become a candidate and a visionary with Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). I want to do my part to help find a cure and support those affected by cancer. Please consider donating to support my efforts to raise money for this important cause. Your contribution will make a difference and will be greatly appreciated. Together, we can make a difference in the fight against cancer. Thank you for your support!
Visionaries look to the future—and see infinite possibilities.
They challenge the status quo—and make the impossible possible.
They boldly imagine a better world – and lead the charge to create it.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society was built on that same vision - of a better world - one without blood cancers.
I am a visionary; I have a vision for a world without cancer, but I need your help.
As a global leader in the fight against blood cancer, LLS:
Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients
Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.
Please consider joining this fight by making a donation. All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. Please visit my website often and tell friends who would also like to donate!
Thanks to your support, my efforts will help ensure this generation is the last to see cancer.
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you!

Hi Paddy! Your Aunt was a good friend and sorority sister of mine in college. After college we flew together for United Airlines. I miss her beautiful smile and infectious giggle! I recently just found out about another friend battling Lymphoma. Thank you for all that you’re doing to fight this disease in memory of Tara and all those continuing to fight! Tara would be so proud of you!

Paddy, Thanks for continuing the fight against cancer and leading the charge for the McCarthy family. I am joining you in the fight in loving memory of your Aunt Tara and in support of her daughter Molly and husband Sean Murphy who is a close friend of mine. I also am donating in loving memory of Will Consovoy who was a close friend of the McCarthy’s who we consider part of the family and who lost his battle with cancer earlier this month. We will be rooting for Will’s Eagles to win the Super Bowl this year!
