Hi Everyone, and Welcome to my LLS Fundraising Page!

My name is Jordan Butler, and I am a junior at the Flint Hill school. My friend, Hayley, and I have signed up as Student Visionary of the Year candidates to lead a team of students to save lives. We aim to raise as much money as possible over the next seven weeks! I am a visionary and have a vision for a world without cancer, but I need your help. Every dollar counts, and we cannot do this without you! Please donate to my campaign and help those in need.

Many of you know me well, but for those who don’t, I love spending time with friends and family, traveling, playing soccer, attending concerts, and playing with my dog. Ultimately, I hope to pursue a career in business (maybe marketing). 

The funds that LLS has raised have advanced treatments for blood cancer that have doubled, tripled, and in some cases, quadrupled the survival rate for some blood cancers. Many LLS-supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers and are in clinical trials for patients with lung, brain, breast, pancreatic, and prostate cancers. And LLS-funded drugs like targeted therapies and immunotherapies are now saving thousands of lives daily.  LLS has supported many patients, and I want to be a part of that, but it is impossible without you. 

I am participating as a candidate because people in my family have lost their battles with cancer. My mom's uncle lost his battle with leukemia, and my aunt lost her battle with breast cancer. I want to help raise money to find cures so that other families don't go through what we did. 

Hearing "you have cancer" are some of the most heartbreaking words for patients and their families. On average, ten people hear "you have blood cancer" every thirty minutes. Every nine minutes, approximately one person has lost their battle. This means a family has lost their son, daughter, mom, dad, sister, or brother every nine minutes. LLS ensures that hearing "you have cancer" is not so scary.
