Ian's Student Visionaries of the Year Fundraiser

Jan 24, 2023

I am so happy to announce the launch of my Students of the Year Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) campaign along with my co-candidate Nic Chung. Last year my sister Sadie ran a successful campaign and inspired me to take on this huge effort.  Me and my teammate Nic have gathered 7 members of the new and improved Team S.W.A.G 2.0. My personal goal is to raise $5,000 for LLS and overall as a team we hope to raise $25,000 and we need your help! Please help me earn the bragging rights in my family for this incredibly important cause.

Students of the Year (SOY) is a seven-week campaign where high-schoolers join together to raise money to help fund the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). Over the duration of the campaign, teams from across the country compete to raise the most money by the end of the seven weeks. The goal of this campaign is not only to raise money for cancer treatment, but to also inform others about LLS' mission and to educate people on blood cancers including Leukemia. LLS seeks to ease the life of patients and families during their journey.

With your help we can give LLS the tools to succeed in funding treatment for blood cancers.

My journey throughout the planning of this campaign has led me to grow and learn so much as a person. I first joined Students of the Year to help make a difference in the lives of those affected by blood cancers but this quickly became an eye opening experience. LLS allowed me to connect with blood cancer patients who shared their touching stories and expressed their appreciation for this student led campaign. I was able to educate myself on what LLS does to help cure blood cancers and fund treatment. Through corporate sponsorship we plan to raise money for cancer treatment, but to also inform others about LLS' mission and to educate people on blood cancers including Leukemia. LLS seeks to ease the life of patients and families during their journey. Witnessing my sister learn so much from Student Visionaries inspired me to pursue it as well. This will help develop me as a person along with my leadership skills. With your help we can give LLS the tools to succeed in funding treatment for blood cancers. LLS is truly an amazing organization and participating in their Students of the Year campaign has presented me with many new opportunities that l'll be forever grateful for.

Please consider donating, it can help save many lives!

Ian's Student Visionaries of the Year Fundraiser

Dec 13, 2022

Visionaries look to the future—and see infinite possibility.
They challenge the status quo—and make the impossible possible.
They boldly imagine a better world – and lead the charge to create it.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society was built on that same vision - of a better world - one without blood cancers.

I am a visionary; I have a vision for a world without cancer, but I need your help.

This year, I’m proud to be a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign, working to raise as much as possible for LLS’s mission.

As a global leader in the fight against blood cancer, LLS:

  • Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients
  • Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
  • Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.

Please consider joining this fight by making a donation. All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. Please visit my website often and tell friends who would also like to donate!

Thanks to your support, my efforts will help ensure this generation is the last to see cancer.

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you!
