Elina's Student Visionaries of the Year Fundraiser

Feb 15, 2023

Visionaries look to the future—and see infinite possibility.
They challenge the status quo—and make the impossible possible.
They boldly imagine a better world – and lead the charge to create it.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society was built on that same vision - of a better world - one without blood cancers.

Hi, my name is Elina Minatelli, and I am a visionary; I have a vision for a world without cancer, but I need your help. I'm sure everyone reading this has been affected by cancer in some way, whether by seeing its effects on family or friends or experiencing it for yourself. My goal is to help make sure that people like you, like your sisters and brothers, grocery store workers and dog walkers, and teachers and students never have to experience something so damaging to everything it touches.

This year, I’m proud to be a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign, working to raise as much as possible for LLS’s mission. In seven weeks, I aim to raise AT LEAST $10,000 for the cause, which may seem like a lot but is only a small fraction of what is needed to help fund LLS.

As a global leader in the fight against blood cancer, LLS:

  • Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients
  • Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
  • Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.

I can't do this on my own and I need your help. Please consider joining this fight by making a donation, and don't hesitate to contact me for more information on donating, the cause, or other ways you can help. All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. Please visit my website often and tell friends who would also like to donate!

Thanks to your support, my efforts will help ensure this generation is the last to see cancer.

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you!

My brother died 21 years ago from Acute Myelogenous Leukemia, a cancer that took his life within a 6-month time frame. He endured treatments that we joked were positively medieval and we hoped future research would someday find treatments less severe and invasive. Thank you for focusing on raising awareness and monies to battle these devastating cancers.
