Hi, my name is Eden Chambers and I am a Junior at Walt Whitman. When I joined LLS for the first time last year, I was welcomed by all the wonderful staff members and my team candients and I am hoping to do the same for my team, Vikes Fight 4 Cures! My biggest motivation to raise money was my grandmother who struggled with cancer, her bravery and positive attitude inspired me to help others like her.

LLS is an impactful organization that not only tirelessly searches for a cure to Leukemia and Lymphoma, but also supports patients living with blood cancer by providing financial support programs, and fighting to make treatments affordable to all. This research and money is not only beneficial for blood cancer specifically but all types of cancer and all families affected by these diseases. I decided to dedicate my time to LLS and SVOY because so many of our loved ones are affected by cancer. As I mentioned before, my grandmother struggled with cancer and I would do anything to make a change in her honor.

Visionaries look to the future—and see infinite possibility. They challenge the status quo—and make the impossible possible. They boldly imagine a better world – and lead the charge to create it.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society was built on that same vision - of a better world - one without blood cancers.

This year, I’m proud to be a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign, working to raise as much as possible for LLS’s mission.

As a global leader in the fight against blood cancer, LLS:

• Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients
• Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
• Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.
