My name is Berkeley Newman and I am a junior at Norfolk Academy. I decided to join this campaign because two of my family's close friends are survivors of Leukemia.  My dad's best friend from college, Rob Allred, was diagnosed with Acute Myleoid Leukemia (AML) in 2017.  He endured many months of chemo and radiation and finally received a life saving stem cell transplant the following year! His daughter, Annie, is our team leader and the reason I joined this campaign.

One of my best friend's brother is also a survivor.  Ashton Legum was diagnosed with AML in 2004 when he was just 22 months old. After going through chemotherapy at our local children's hospital, Ashton went into remission in January 2005 and is now a sophomore at Christopher Newport University.
