Hello! Welcome to my fundraising page for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Student Visionaries of the Year 2023 campaign! My name is Ambreen Mariyam, and I am a junior attending Robinson Secondary School in Fairfax, VA. I am so honored to be a part of such an amazing organization fighting for the cure for cancer! As you may know, the mission of LLS is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma while improving the quality of life for patients and their families. LLS does this through its three mission pillars which include: research, advocacy, and patient support. I joined this campaign because too many lives have been lost to cancer, and so many people have been affected by their losses, including my own. My grandfather passed away from brain cancer before I got a chance to know him, be able to read his poetry and be touched by his gentle and kind soul. One of the many reasons I joined the campaign is because I know how it feels to lose intimate moments with loved ones. I promise to advocate for those struggling with cancer and extend my hand to members of my community through LLS's cutting-edge efforts.

This year, I’m proud to be a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign, working to raise as much as possible for LLS’s mission.

As a global leader in the fight against blood cancer, LLS:

• Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients
• Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
• Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.
