Alexa's Student Visionaries of the Year Fundraiser
My name is Alexa Haynie. I am a co-candidate with my good friend, Madigan Rustia, in the 2023 Student Visionaries of the Year (SVOY) Campaign for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). LLS is the largest contributor to blood cancer in the nation. SVOY is an incredible opportunity for high school students such as myself to raise funds for the fight against cancer.
As a global leader in the fight against blood cancer, LLS:
-
Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients;
-
Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more;
-
Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.
I have decided to dedicate my time to SVOY because I want to do everything I can to help those who are battling illness. Anyone can express their want to help verbally, but actually taking action is crucial for change. I am dedicated to putting forth my best effort as I have been given the opportunity to help those living with blood cancers.
Over the 7 week span of January 21 - March 11, my team and I will be collecting donations. With your support, I hope to reach my personal goal of raising $7000 and contribute to my team's goal of $50,000. Every cent counts and I would greatly appreciate your support in the fight to cure blood cancer. Please note that all donations are tax-deductible.
Please share this website with friends and family who may be interested in donating or learning more about LLS.
If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to reach out to me at alexahaynie17@gmail.com
Thanks to your support, my efforts will help ensure this generation is the last to see cancer.
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support! For more information about LLS, please visit www.lls.org.
