Hi everyone, and welcome to my LLS fundraising page!

My name is Sydney Hill and I have signed up as a Student Visionary of the Year canidate to save lives with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). We aim to to raise as much as possible over the next 7 weeks! I am a visionary; I have a vision for a world without cancer, but I need your help. Every dollar counts and we cannot do this without you! Please donate to my campaign and help those in need kick cancer's butt!

Many of you know me well, but for those who don't, I love playing volleyball, traveling, playing with my dog Bella and my cat JJ, good food, and spending time with my friends and family! I'm currently a junior at Trinity Christian School, and am excited for the continual college journey to further explore my passions and interests!

I have grouped together with my wonderful peers in Team Rollskies for a Cure to participate in SOY. I am participating as a canidate beacuse I have several family members who have lost their battles to cancer. My grandma lost her life to ovarian cancer and my grandfather lost his life to colon cancer. I am passionate about raising money for LLS so other families don't have to go through the same experience.  Fortunatley, many of my family members have kicked cancer's butt, and I am encouraged to particpate in this campaign to provide even more cancer warriors around the world with a chance to fight cancer too!

Thanks to your support, my efforts will help fund therapies and treatments that are saving lives! Over the years, support from people like you has been responsible for the blood cancer advancements that have doubled, tripled, and in some cases quadrupled the survival rate for some blood cancers. That's amazing! LLS provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personailized, on-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more. LLS also mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break barriers to care. Many LLS-supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are also now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers and are in clinical trials for patients with lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. LLS-funded drugs like targeted therapies and immunotherapies are now saving thousands of lives every day! How cool is that?! LLS has supported many patients, and I want to be apart of that, but it's impossible without you.

Hearing "you have cancer" are some of the most heartbreaking words for patients and their families. On average, ten people hear "you have blood cancer" every thirty minutes. Every nine minutes, approimately one person has loss their battle. This means a family has lost their son, daughter, mom, dad, sister, or brother every nine minutes. LLS ensures that hearing "you have cancer" is not so scary and a lot more hopeful.
