Nadia's Student Visionaries of the Year Washington DC Fundraiser

Jan 06, 2023

Hello! My name is Nadia Liban, I'm 17 years old and a senior attending Cumberland Valley High School in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania!

Here’s a little about me, I LOVE history and English, reading, watching movies, trying out new foods with my friends, and going on mall trips with my Mom! I hope to pursue journalism/communications in the future.

Last summer, my cousin, Gelila Solomon, asked me to join her team and help her fundraise for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I am so excited and grateful to join her in the fight against cancer!

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society was built on a vision of a better world without blood cancers. I am a visionary; I have a vision for a world without cancer, but I need your help.

I am participating in SOY because I want to help the best I can to fund cancer research and financially support families. In a time of vulnerability, families should not be under stress by their financial burdens but instead, keep close to their loved ones. In the past years, YOUR help has contributed so much to LLS and changed many lives!

This year, I’m proud to be a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign, working to raise as much as possible for LLS’s mission.

As a global leader in the fight against blood cancer, LLS:

  • Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients

  • Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.

  • Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.

Please consider joining this fight by making a donation. All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. If you support this mission and want to take your part in the change, please visit my website and feel free to tell friends about my page!

I appreciate your time learning about my efforts and supporting our fundraiser. Thanks to your support, my efforts will help ensure this generation is the last to see cancer. For more information about LLS, please visit www.lls.org.

Thank you for doing this, Nadia. My mom, Cathy Neitz, died of lymphoma when she was only 41 and I was only 21. It's near and dear to my heart to be able to support you in this great cause.
