Me
But Why?….
My passion of helping the Leukemia Lymphoma society comes from many places. Going into my freshman year of high school I was diagnosed with a life threatning brain tumor. Although I have not been through cancer specifically Leukemia I know the feeling of hearing news that will change your life forever. I have experienced how in an instant everything moves so fast, going to many doctor appointments, traveling to visit hospitals for the best treatment, getting test after test, being home bound, and worst of all the fear of dying. Watching how it affected my family was also very hard. Now I live with fear every time I get a headache. Being a kid and living a normal life to receiving the worst possible news and having everything change is something that will never get easier for anyone. Beside myself I have watched many close family members battle cancer. Although I cant make receiving the news of having cancer better for anyone I can help by giving support and raising money to help find cures and treatments. Help me help others not live in fear.

Visionaries look to the future—and see infinite possibility.
They challenge the status quo—and make the impossible possible.
They boldly imagine a better world – and lead the charge to create it.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society was built on that same vision - of a better world - one without blood cancers.
I am a visionary; I have a vision for a world without cancer, but I need your help.
This year, I’m proud to be a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign, working to raise as much as possible for LLS’s mission.
As a global leader in the fight against blood cancer, LLS:
- Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients
- Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
- Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.
Please consider joining this fight by making a donation. All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. Please visit my website often and tell friends who would also like to donate!
Thanks to your support, my efforts will help ensure this generation is the last to see cancer.
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you!

Lindsay, We prayed for you and your family & thank God for your healing. We have donated to LLS for many years as a result of the death of my mother, 45+ yrs. ago from Multiple Myeloma, a malignancy of the bone marrow. We are happy to do it in support of your school efforts. Your grandparents, our friends, are rightly very proud of you. God bless your efforts to help others. The Birds

Your caring efforts are so heartfelt and may all the donations you receive continue to bless you with God's healing and the same for future children with this illness.

My husband died of a blood-related cancer, although it was not lymphoma or leukemia. I also want to honor the Hockstra family who are beloved friends.
