I am honored to be participating in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) 2023 Students of the Year (SOY) campaign, a seven-week initiative in which high school students from around the country are nominated to participate in a fundraising competition to benefit LLS’s mission: to find a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

I am participating in this campaign for my mamaw, Judy Covone, who battled non hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2011 and breast cancer in 2015 and survived both and is a very healthy and happy person today. None of that could have been done without the research and treatment which is funded by LLS.

S.W.A.T. 6.0's main mission is to strengthen our communication skills through out philanthropic efforts and to share our cause with those around us. Every dollar donated counts towards the cause, no matter how large or small.

• Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients
• Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
• Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.
