I decided to dedicate my time to LLS and SVOY in honor of my grandma Joan Rienzo who passed away at 62 due to non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. She passed away before I was born, so participating in this campaign helps me find a way to help share her story, while I can help many others who are in the same situation she was 25 years ago.

I am representing my school, Stone Ridge, as a team member for the Gators Beat Blood Cancer team. During this seven-week campaign, high school students from across the country will participate in a competition to raise money to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and their mission: to find a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease, and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
