My name is Caroline Sears. I am a team member in the 2023 Student Visionaries of the Year (SVOY) Campaign for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). Funds raised are making a huge impact on blood cancers,Survival rates for some forms of childhood leukemia have risen from 3% in 1960 to nearly 90% today. However, leukemia still causes more deaths among children than any other cancer. LLS is fighting for better treatments.

As a global leader in the fight against blood cancer, LLS:

• Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients
• Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
• Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.

I have dedicated my time to SOVY because my mother had cancer and I want no family to go through what I did. It was so hard to sit back and to pray and hope the treatment would work, so I wanted to help raise money so every family knows there child is safe.

From January 21 - March 11, my team and I will be collecting donations. My personal goal is to raise $10,000 and to contribute to my team's goal of 50,000. Every part helps and with your suport to fight the cure for blood cancer.  All donations are tax-deductible.
