Chanel's Student Visionaries of the Year Washington DC Fundraiser

Jan 21, 2023

Hi Everyone. Welcome to my LLS page,

Hi, My name is Chanel Harvey, and I am a Junior at Flint Hill School; when my two friends told me about this opportunity I was thrilled to help. We aim to raise as much money as possible over the next seven weeks! I am looking to make an impact on the world and hopefully be able to live in a world without cancer. Every dollar counts, and we cannot do this without you! Please donate to this campaign and help the poor men and women that are struggling with this terrible disease live a long and healthy life.

Many of you may know me, but for those who don’t.. helping people has always been my passion, so much so that I would like to be either a Sports Medicine Physician or a Bio-Medical Engineer to use engineering and technology to help better the medical field. I also love to spend time with my family, hang out with my friends, play volleyball, manage boys' varsity basketball, run track and read. I also love to paint and take photographs. I have also been elected the wonderful opportunity to be a Junior Class representative on my school's Student Council Administration, and the previous year I was a peer counselor.

My grandma and both of my grandpas struggled with cancer. It was hard seeing them every day fighting this horrible disease struggling to make every breath count, never knowing if it would be their last. Some of my closest cousins have also struggled with cancer at such a young age; this disease can affect everybody, no matter how old or young, and it’s hard watching your loved ones suffer from such a malicious disease every day. A few of my relatives miraculously survived, but others were not as lucky. That is why I am so determined to raise money and awareness for this cause because I’ve had family struggle with it in my own life and I don’t want anyone to go through that pain, either themselves or someone they love. That is what this campaign is all about, making an impact and trying to make a difference for the many people who don't get to spend time with their families and loved ones, for all who are not given a chance.

Did you know that in 2022 1.9 million people got diagnosed with cancer and 9.8% of those cases were blood cancer, and 29% of those were blood cancer diagnoses were children? Help me help all of those people.
