Niejeen's Students of the Year Fundraiser

Jan 11, 2022

Hello! My name is Niejeen and I have signed up along with many others to help fudraise for the Leukemia&Lymphoma Society (LLS) over the next seven weeks. I'm currently a sophmore at Heritage Highschool as well as part of the Introduction to Health and Medical Sciences program at the Academies of Loudoun.

I have a passion for pursing medicine, so I participate in many clubs such as Volunteering for the American Red Cross, participating in the medical honor society, Hosa, and created my own club called Giving Back with Science; where we go around local elemantary school teaching children about the medical feild, as well as fundraising to make care packages for those staying in hospitals long term.

I turly know what it feels like for one to have a disease and know that theres nothing one can do. My sister has Microcephaly, which is when the brain is underdevloped, thus delaying speech, walking, etc,. Although theres no cure we have hope that scientists and doctors can one day come up with a cure. Therefore, I want to give back to those with diseases such as Leukemia and Lymphoma and give them a hope for a cure. None of the extensive research that all the taleneted people are doing could happen without OUR help.

With your support, we can help our community! Donations will support research for a cure towards Leukemia and Lymphoma. I greatly appreciate any of those willing to donate, and help us take the next steps in living in a world that's cancer free!

Niejeen's Students of the Year Fundraiser

Jan 04, 2022

I have signed up to save lives with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and am working to raise as much as possible over the next 7 weeks. Every dollar raised counts as one vote for my campaign. The candidate(s) whose team tallies the most votes earns the prestigious title of Student or Students of the Year. Will you help me earn that title?

As you know, everyone wins when cancer loses. Thanks to your support, my efforts will help fund therapies and treatments that are saving lives. Over the years, support from people like you has been responsible for the blood cancer advancements that have doubled, tripled, and in some cases quadrupled the survival rate for some blood cancers.

Many LLS-supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are also now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers and are in clinical trials for patients with lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. And LLS-funded drugs like targeted therapies and immunotherapies are now saving thousands of lives every day.

We really are getting close to our goal of a world without blood cancers!

All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. They'll not only support LLS research, but patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services as well.

Please visit my website often and tell friends who would also like to donate!

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support! For more information about LLS, please visit www.lls.org
