Allison's Students of the Year Fundraiser

Feb 01, 2022

Friends & Family!

I have signed up to save lives with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and am working to raise as much as possible over the next 7 weeks. Every dollar raised counts as one vote for my campaign. The candidate(s) whose team tallies the most votes earns the prestigious title of Student or Students of the Year.

As you know, everyone wins when cancer loses. Thanks to your support, my efforts will help fund therapies and treatments that are saving lives. Over the years, support from people like you has been responsible for the blood cancer advancements that have doubled, tripled, and in some cases quadrupled the survival rate for some blood cancers.

Many LLS-supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are also now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers and are in clinical trials for patients with lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. And LLS-funded drugs like targeted therapies and immunotherapies are now saving thousands of lives every day.

I am especially happy and proud of LLS's Children's Initiative; We are investing well over $100 million over the next five years to support global, collaborative research and treatments for children’s blood cancers, as well as providing a wide range of free education, 1:1 support services, financial assistance, and advocacy on behalf of young patients and their families.

Our goal is to raise $5,000. We are so grateful for our friends, family, and community for helping us in this goal and are hoping you can show up big too with a generous donation. we will keep you updated on our progress and below are just a FEW of the reasons I care so deeply about this cause.

For my friend Paul, Paul is the reason I work for LLS. I remember watching him battle cancer throughout high school, his strength and extremely kind heart will always be what I remember about him. His passing changed me and has made me devote my life to helping make sure other families and friends don't have to experience what his did.  Paul passed away young age of 21 after battling Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.

TWO of my uncles (who I love dearly) were blood cancer survivors and my tie to the mission grew even stronger. Over the past year my uncle Paul had his cancer return, I continue to fiercely and relentlessly fundraise for this mission in hopes of funding better treatment options with my Uncle Paul in mind.

over the past 6 years I have met the most incredible people through LLS. These are the strongest, most brave, compassionate, and caring people you will come by. People who have lived through the unthinkable and have used their experiences to help others. I wish they never had to join the cancer community..  I feel honored to call them my friends. Their energy and passion fuel my desire to find a cure every day!

All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. They'll not only support LLS research, but patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services as well.

Please visit my website often and tell friends who would also like to donate!

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support! For more information about LLS, please visit www.lls.org
