We have token the name "The Goldbusters" as childhood cancer is something that has impacted each of our lives very closely. My nextdoor neighbor, Ella Borowski, has now overcome Leukemia twice at only the age of 8 years old. No child should have to go through this, but Ella is a strong girl, and showed the world what she is made of. She has done a lot of work to raise awareness about cancer and is truly an inspiration to us and our community. In addition, one of our school friends was recently diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma, a type of bone cancer, and the process was extremely challenging for him. He is now thankfully cancer-free and is doing better than ever! We are so fortunate to have both of these individuals in our lives because they have truly shown us what it means to be a warrior. If we would be so fortunate as to reach our goal of $50,000 we would like to deditcate our money towards childhood cancer patient care and research.

My name is Leila Mohajer, and I am currently a junior at Riverside High school in Leesburg, VA. I would first like to thank you for visiting my page and showing interest in helping me and my team to save lives. I have lost loved ones to cancer, and unfourtunately so have many others. One of our friends from school was recently diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma, a type of bone cancer, and we as a team would like to honor him in this campaign. Cancer is far too common nowadays, and I want to do everything I can do change that. I am SO excited to begin this amazing journey in raising money for such an amazing cause, and my ultimate goal by the end of this is to have changed lives!

LLS’s Students of the Year is a 7-week long philanthropic leadership development program for high school students in which we, as a team, will raise money for blood cancer patients. This money will be put towards treatment research, patient care, and raising awareness. The team that raises the most money at the end of the 7-week period is awarded the title of Students of the Year. This program will allow us to develop valuable skills in areas such as marketing, project management, and networking. These skills will be in our toolkit to assist us in our academic and professional pursuits. Additionally, Students of the Year helps us stand out in our community, especially to colleges. 

My team, The Goldbuster's, and I will mobilize youth to raise a goal of $50,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society by February 27, 2021 in order to fund research, education, and treatments. And hopefully we won't stop there! We hope to raise as much money as humanly possible for this amazing cause. We appreciate all the help we can get.
