Hi I'm Will Avon, and I am hoping to save lives by raising funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). I am working with my team to raise as much as possible over the next 7 weeks during the Student of the Year Campaign, and my personal campaign goal will be $5,500. 

Leukemia has sadly affected my family directly.  When I was four years old, my cousin Jed passed away from Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at age twelve. Jed was always a joy to be around, and every time I saw him he had a huge smile, no matter how much pain he was in. Jed battled ALL for eight years and Jed's mom and sister have worked tirelessly since Jed's passing to support families afflicted with pediatric cancer.  Jed and his family are my inspiration for supporting this campaign.
 
Thanks to your support and donations, my efforts will help fund therapies, treatments and reasearch that are saving lives. Over the years, support from people like you has been responsible for the blood cancer advancements that have doubled, tripled, and in some cases quadrupled the survival rate for some blood cancers.  I'm particularly gratified that this year's campaign is targeting a $25 million effort for grants addressing new pediatric Leukemia treatments. 

Many LLS-supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are also now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers and are in clinical trials for patients with lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. And LLS-funded drugs like targeted therapies and immunotherapies are now saving thousands of lives every day.
