Taylor's Students of the Year Fundraiser

Jan 22, 2022

Hello everyone,

I am more than honored and humbled to be participating in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) 2022 Students of the Year (SOY) campaign, a seven-week initiative in which high school students from around the country are nominated to participate in a fundraising competition to benefit LLS’s mission: to find a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

In 2014 I lost a role model. My grandfather Melvyn J. Estrin was a producer, businessman, restaurant and club owner, and a friend to everyone who crossed paths with him. At 71 years old, he lost his battle to leukemia. Although I am deeply saddened that he is no longer with us, his legacy continues to live on. I can’t help but think of how amazing it would be to have him during my teenage years. I believe that I am turning out a lot like him and that we would’ve been best friends. When he passed away, it affected many people in the DC area, and even all around the world. I am the third of his grandchildren to participate and raise money for LLS. I decided to take part in this initiative to honor his legacy, and I need your help.

The team I am on “Bulldogs Against Blood Cancer” is dedicated to raising awareness and funds to help find a cure for blood cancer.  Please join me in supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) by making a donation to my fundraising campaign.

As you know, everyone wins when cancer loses. Thanks to your support, my efforts will help fund therapies and treatments that are saving lives. Over the years, support from people like you has been responsible for the blood cancer advancements that have doubled, tripled, and in some cases quadrupled the survival rate for some blood cancers.

Many LLS-supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are also now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers and are in clinical trials for patients with lung, brain, breast, pancreatic, and prostate cancers. And LLS-funded drugs like targeted therapies and immunotherapies are now saving thousands of lives every day.

We really are getting close to our goal of a world without blood cancers!

All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. They'll not only support LLS research, but patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services as well.

Please visit my website often and tell friends who would also like to donate!

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support! For more information about LLS, please visit www.lls.org

With kindness and love,

Taylor Rosoff
