This year, I am a junior at Georgetown Visitation and I am so excited to participate in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's 2022 Students of the Year Campaign! LLS is an organization that is working to cure blood cancer through research, support, and advocacy. The work they do is truly lifesaving, and I am overjoyed to raise money for such a great cause. However, they need the support of donors like you. My team, S.W.A.T. 5.0, and I have been working hard these past few months to get our campaign started. Hello friends and family! 

I have signed up to save lives with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and am working to raise as much as possible. Every dollar raised counts as one vote for my campaign. The candidate(s) whose team tallies the most votes earns the prestigious title of Student or Students of the Year. Will you help me earn that title?

Cancer has affected many of my family members, and unfortunately I'm sure this is probably the case for many of you as well. I was specifically drawn to LLS and their mission because my uncle, Danny, passed away when he was just five years old after fighting leukemia. In addition to Danny, my Aunt Lisa successfully battled Hodgkin's lymphoma three times! If Danny was battling leukemia today, his story might be different. Organizations like LLS are responsible for the blood cancer advancements that have allowed the survival rate for blood cancer patients to double, triple, and in some cases quadruple since the 1960s. But, LLS cannot do it without YOU! Thanks to your support, my efforts will help fund therapies and treatments that are saving lives.  

LLS is not just helping those with blood cancer. Many LLS-supported therapies are also now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers and are in clinical trials for patients with lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. Additionally, LLS-funded drugs like targeted therapies and immunotherapies are now saving thousands of lives every day.
