"I have passed this bell and this wall once sometimes twice a week for 295 days, dreaming about the day when conor would ring it like crazy, signaling the end of cancer and treatments. Unfortunately that day will never come for our baby. For almost a year Conor has been brave and strong and kept fighting but this time the cancer has won. He relapsed again and we were told that this is the end.

It is now Conor's time to stop fighting and being brave. No more medicine, no more clinic, no more hospital, no more poking. It is time for him to rest and snuggle at home where he can see his family and play with friends until it's time for him to go.

Thank you to everyone who has been there for Conor and our family over the last 9 months. You lifted us up and made us stronger. Without you everything would have been much heavier annd harder.

Thank you to everyone who has supported our team and donated so far. This Friday is World Cancer Day and every 3 minutes, someone is diagnosed with blood cancer and every 9 minutes someone loses their fight with it. In honor of World Cancer Day, please consider a donation of $10 to help me raise $1,000 today to fight cancer.

I have signed up to save lives with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). I am working to raise as much as possible over the next seven weeks. Every dollar raised counts as one vote for my campaign. The candidate(s) whose team tallies the most votes earns the prestigious title of Student or Students of the Year. Will you help me earn that title?

As you know, everyone wins when cancer loses, and many people in my family have lost their fight to cancer. Most recently, my little cousin Conor was diagnosed with T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and lost his battle in October of 2021, just before his third birthday. I have chosen to fight cancer on behalf of Conor and the others in my family who also lost their own battles. Conor was one of the most spirited and happy little kids I have ever known. He spent his life surrounded by his loving family and brightening the days of those around him. He is the inspiration behind our team, "Conor's Crew," and our mascot, his favorite animal, the tenacious triceratops. 

Sadly, losing my little cousin, Conor, has not been my only encounter with cancer. My aunt Tara lost her battle before I was born, and my cousin Molly signed up to be a candidate for student of the year in 2020. She was fortunate enough to raise enough money to get a research grant in her mother's name, and I hope to do the same for Conor. I encourage you to join me in the fight against cancer by donating to help Conor's Crew of brave triceratops who will fight in his honor and hopefully come out on top!

Many LLS-supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are also now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers and are in clinical trials for patients with lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. And LLS-funded drugs like targeted therapies and immunotherapies are now saving thousands of lives every day.
 
We really are getting close to our goal of a world without blood cancers!
