Thank you for visiting my Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Students of the Year fundraising page. My name is Lizzie Misovec, and I am a 10th grader at Wootton High School. I am so honored to help make a difference with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and to work on behalf of cancer patients, survivors and their families. Over the next seven weeks, my team "Wootton Warriors" and I will be working hard to raise awareness and funds for LLS's mission to cure blood cancers. 
 

My parents have always instilled in me the value of giving back to your community. And, my family has had a history of cancer. So when I was nominated as a Student of the Year candidate, and learned more about the mission of LLS, I knew I wanted to participate. Learning about the number of people diagnosed with blood cancers--especially children, and the treatments and struggles of cancer patients, motivated me to make an impact and join this worthwhile cause.

As you know, everyone wins when cancer loses. Thanks to your support, my efforts will help fund valuable research, therapies and treatments that are saving lives. Over the years, support from people like you has been responsible for the blood cancer advancements that have doubled, tripled, and in some cases quadrupled the survival rate for some blood cancers.
 
Many LLS-supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are also now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers and are in clinical trials for patients with lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. And LLS-funded drugs like targeted therapies and immunotherapies are now saving thousands of lives every day.

We really are getting close to our goal of a world without blood cancers!
