As a  childhood Cancer Survivor (ALL), I have signed up to save lives with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and am working to raise as much as possible over the next 7 weeks. I know I am lucky to be alive because of the advances we have made in Cancer treatment!!!!   The 2.5 years on chemotherapy were critical to my survival but also left lasting side effects that I am still dealing with as a 16 year old-- learning difficulties, memory issues, and other biological challenges.  I am working to raise funds to help find treatments that can not only save lives but help lessen the long-term side effects that children, like me, are left dealing with!  LLS was a gift to my family during a really tough time. Not only did they provide financial help to our family-- they provided fun events and activities for me.  I tell people that my memories of Cancer treatment were happy ones because LLS helped to provide normal childhood experiences!!  They helped keep a smile on my face-- and I am still smiling today !!

As you know, everyone wins when cancer loses. Thanks to your support, my efforts will help fund therapies and treatments that are saving lives. Over the years, support from people like you has been responsible for the blood cancer advancements that have doubled, tripled, and in some cases quadrupled the survival rate for some blood cancers.
 
Many LLS-supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are also now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers and are in clinical trials for patients with lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. And LLS-funded drugs like targeted therapies and immunotherapies are now saving thousands of lives every day.
 
We really are getting close to our goal of a world without blood cancers!
