Kristen Bae | Team Mission Possible

Kristen's Students of the Year Fundraiser

Jan 03, 2022

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page, welcome!

My name is Kristen Bae and this will be my second year partaking in the SOY (Students of the Year) campaign, spearheading my team Mission Possible as a candidate. As we enter another year full of hope, gratitude, resilience, and optimism, I am more than confident of the reforms we can make and the challenges we can tackle head on to achieve a world without blood cancer.

As an avid leader striving to improve the quality of our nation's health, I plan to contribute my strong work ethic, communication, experience, and acquired skills to successfully raise my personal goal of $5k to donate to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

As some of you may know, my father was an Oncology and Biomedical research scientist and professor who spent over 20 years studying the various causes, effects, and functions of cancers while discovering treatments and cures for others. Although my father no longer remains physically with me today, growing up spending time in his laboratory at Georgetown University I often observed his actions to later discover the profound intentions behind them. Being able to intertwine his love for science and contribute to improving the quality of life around us has truly shaped my identity today and has inspired me to be immersed in using my strengths and gifts to better our world one day at a time.

During the time I had with my father, he sparked a realization, working to do what I love. Though there are many uncertainties in life such as when this pandemic will be over, or even what my future occupation will be, there's one thing I'm confident in about myself: I am a people person and love working to help the very people in my community. Having the key of passion and drive to unlock reform and positive change, I know that by utilizing my leadership skills, experience, and influence, I can continue to live vicariously through my fathers footsteps to make a positive difference and by joining me in this campaign you are not only supporting me but also the lives of many others.

By making a donation to my LLS fundraising page, you support the many facets of LLS’s mission work from investing in groundbreaking research, providing education and support to patients, and advocating at the state and federal level for legislation to help those living with cancer.

My appreciation and gratitude for your support cannot be overstated — each and every dollar donated to LLS brings us closer to our goal to end blood cancer and makes an impact for cancer patients and their families.

On behalf of cancer patients and their families everywhere, I sincerely thank you for your support!
