Julia Capuano | Team Gators Beat Blood Cancer
Julia's Students of the Year Fundraiser
Welcome and thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
My name is Julia Capuano, I am currently a junior at Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart, and I am so excited and honored to participate in this year's 2022 Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Students of the Year (SOY) campaign. This year I am campaigning as a member of my school's team, Gators Beat Blood Cancer for the second year and I am so excited to help support the LLS mission! The campaign lasts seven weeks starting January 22, and consists of select high school students all across the country competing to raise funds to support the mission of LLS: "Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families."
I am participating in this campaign in honor of everyone who has been personally affected by blood cancers. In particular, I am raising funds in memory of Stephen D. Vermillion III, a very close family friend who sadly lost his life a few years ago after his 5-year long battle with leukemia. All the funds I raise during this campaign will directly go towards research to help find a cure for blood cancers and save lives. LLS has helped fund over 50 blood cancer treatments approved by the FDA since 2017. With your help, we can grow this number.
Because of the pandemic, this has been a unique year for all of us, but especially the lives of blood cancer patients and their families. It is more important than ever to donate and help improve the quality of life for cancer patients and their families.
My appreciation for your support cannot be overstated — each and every dollar donated to LLS brings us closer to our goal to end blood cancer and makes an impact on cancer patients and their families. LLS has helped millions of people impacted by cancer throughout its more than 70-year history, even funding breakthrough blood cancer research to advance lifesaving treatments and cures that is now helping patients with other cancers and diseases. That is why at LLS we say that beating cancer is in our blood.
Please visit my website as often as you can and share it with everyone you know who would also like to join us in the fight against cancer. Together, we have the power to achieve a world without blood cancer.
All donations are tax-deductible.
On behalf of cancer patients and their families everywhere, I sincerely thank you for your support!
