Thank you for coming to our Fundraising Page. We are so thrilled and proud to have formed our team, Raise Hope Together, with our very dear friend, Theo Weiman (in the picture with us below). Our Grandfather, Larry Thayer, was diagnosed with CLL (Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia) in 2007. He has struggled and fought with this since then and we have seen firsthand, the need for a cure. In April of this past year, our Aunt Betsy found a tumor on her left breast. Days later, she received a breast cancer diagnosis. In the months since, she has undergone a double mastectomy and a complete hysterectomy. As she has told us, "I continue to work on my personal recovery, which requires piecing togheter a new body, mind, and spirit". She is doing well today, and we hope to help others do as well as she has been able to do with her fight. In talking about the value of hope in this fight against cancer, Besty stated, "Hope is present due to the countless people who have founght the fight before you. Hope exists because of the continued reserach that goes on to cure cancer."

We have signed up to save lives with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and are working to raise as much as possible over the next 7 weeks. Every dollar raised counts as one vote for our campaign. The candidate(s) whose team tallies the most votes earns the prestigious title of Student or Students of the Year. Our team intends to earn that title. Please help us reach that goal and join us in curing some cancer! 

As you know, everyone wins when cancer loses. Thanks to your support, our efforts will help fund therapies and treatments that are saving lives. Over the years, support from people like you has been responsible for the blood cancer advancements that have doubled, tripled, and in some cases quadrupled the survival rate for some blood cancers.
 
Many LLS-supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are also now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers and are in clinical trials for patients with lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. And LLS-funded drugs like targeted therapies and immunotherapies are now saving thousands of lives every day.

 All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. They'll not only support LLS research, but patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services as well.
