Emma Mulford | Team Gators Beat Blood Cancer

Emma's Students of the Year Fundraiser

Dec 28, 2021

Hi everyone!

My name is Emma Mulford and this year I decided to join the Gators Beat Blood Cancer Team at Stone Ridge who works directly with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). The goal and mission are to find a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma, and to improve and support the lives of patients and their families. During this seven-week campaign, high school students all across the country work to raise money and awareness to help LLS reach its goal. I chose to join the team this year to honor the people in my life who have been affected by leukemia, especially both of my grandmas, and do what I can to help doctors find treatments and even cures so that, hopefully soon, others do not get affected by this cancer.

Many of you probably have known a friend or had a family member who was affected by cancer and knows how challenging it can be. With your support and donations, my efforts will help fund therapies and treatments that are saving lives. Support from people like you has been responsible for the blood cancer advancements that have doubled, tripled, and in some cases quadrupled the survival rate for some blood cancers. While you might not think you are doing much, everything counts and helps to get LLS closer to their goal. Also, your donations will support therapies that not only help blood cancer patients but are also now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers and are in clinical trials for patients with lung, brain, breast, pancreatic, and prostate cancers. And, LLS-funded drugs like targeted therapies and immunotherapies are now saving thousands of lives every day.

All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. They'll not only support LLS research, but patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services as well.

Please visit my website often and tell friends who would also like to donate! Every little bit counts!

On behalf of blood cancer patients and their families everywhere and on behalf of the Gators Beat Blood Cancer Team, I thank you for your support!

Emma

Thank you Emma for doing this!! My son Grayson is currently in treatment for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, which is a pediatric cancer. It is nearly 100% curable! Treatments will take over 3 years, we are only in month 5. Have a long road ahead, but by the grace of God, we will succeed in his full recovery. A cure for all blood cancer is desperately needed. Thank you to all who are able to help in any way!
