Emily Jackson | Team Mission Possible

Emily's Students of the Year Fundraiser

Jan 23, 2022

Hello, my name is Emily Jackson, welcome to my fundrising page. Here you can find out my mission on why I chose to be a part of the Leukemia and Lymphoma society (LLS) , ways you can help my team and I raise money that will help find a cure for blood cancers, and some other intresting information on the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Every 180 seconds someone was told the life changing news that they have cancer. Unfortunately, my uncle was diagonosed this past August with stage 4 double-hit Lymphoma. He just finished his last round of chemotherapy, and is getting ready to start 3-5 rounds of hospital admitted, High Dose Methotrexate treatment. Never would I have thought that someone I know, someone I admire, and have looked up to since I was little would be affected by such a horrible cancer. His journey and battle to fight has inspired me to do as much as I can to help raise money that will not only go towards treatments and studies, but most importantly a cure for him, and for others just like him.

I have signed up to save lives with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and am working to raise as much as possible over the next 7 weeks. Every dollar raised counts as one vote for my campaign. I am extremely lucky to be a part of such an amazing team with a fantastic group of girls. My team, Mission Possible is one of the 40+ teams in the Washington DC area dedicated to raising as much money as possible so that we can all make a difference.

As you know, everyone wins when cancer loses. Thanks to your support, my efforts will help fund therapies and treatments that are saving lives. Over the years, support from people like you has been responsible for the blood cancer advancements that have doubled, tripled, and in some cases quadrupled the survival rate for some blood cancers.

Many LLS-supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are also now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers and are in clinical trials for patients with lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. And LLS-funded drugs like targeted therapies and immunotherapies are now saving thousands of lives every day.

We really are getting close to our goal of a world without blood cancers!

All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. They'll not only support LLS research, but patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services as well.

Please visit my website often and tell friends who would also like to donate!

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support! For more information about LLS, please visit www.lls.org
