Team Bleeding Edge's Fundraising Page
I'm fighting blood cancer because of my Uncle Dan. He was diagnosed with leukemia in 2007 when he was in his early 30s. As of 2018, he is cancer-free thanks to advanced therapies, a stem-cell transplant, and intensive post-transplant treatments.
It was really touch-and-go for my uncle. He wouldn’t be alive today if not for the cutting-edge treatments funded by the people who chose to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) in years past. LLS funded treatments have helped double, triple, and in some cases, quadrupled the survival rate for certain blood cancers.
I’m so thankful to still have my uncle in my life and especially thankful that my dad still has his brother and my cousin still has his father. Because of this, I want to ensure that other families have access to the cutting-edge treatments they need in the future.
I'm asking for your help to pay it forward. Please make a donation on this page.
I'm One of Many Students Fighting to Save Lives
To achieve my goal of saving uncles everywhere, I've gathered a team of students from across five high schools in the D.C. area. Together, we're participating in a 7-week student-led fundraising campaign for LLS called the Students of the Year Campaign.
My team will be competing with other teams to raise as much as possible over the next 7 weeks. My team has a goal to raise $50,000. Every dollar raised counts as one vote for my team. Will you support my team as we work to save lives?
LLS-funded therapies are also used to treat patients with other types of cancer such as stomach, skin, lung, brain, breast, pancreatic, and prostate cancers.
High school students have a lot on their plates but each of my friends below chose to take the time to be a part of this important effort to beat blood cancer.
My team members are working hard to reach out to their friends and family to meet our fundraising goal of $50,000. My team can only achieve its goal with your help.
Years ago, someone made a donation to LLS not knowing that it would help save my Uncle Dan. They took a leap of faith and it paid off.All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. Thank you for your support, and please share this page with your friends! For more information about LLS, please visit www.lls.org
