About My Campaign
I signed up to save lives with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and am working to raise as much as possible over the next 7 weeks. My team, 007 License to Cure, is doing our best to fight for a cure.
The goal of this campaign is to beat cancer, since everyone wins when cancer loses. I am so grateful for your support because my efforts will help fund therapies and treatments that are actively saving lives. Medicine has become a passion of mine and I want to pursue a career in it. I have also always been passionate about volunteering and helping others. This campaign combines both of those for me and I get to make a huge impact and help many others in their fight against cancer. Furthermore, My cousin Jake was diagnosed with Burkett’s Lymphoma, a rare and very dangerous form of cancer, in 2007. At only 14 years old, he had to stay in hospitals for many weeks, go through chemotherapy, and have multiple surgeries. Due to a new drug developed with funds raised by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS), Jake was able to recover, finish High School, and go to college at Harvard University.
Over the years, support from people like you has been responsible for the blood cancer advancements that have doubled, tripled, and in some cases quadrupled the survival rate for some blood cancers.
The amazing part of supporting LLS is that many of the therapies they support not only help blood cancer patients but are also now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers and are in clinical trials for patients with lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. And LLS-funded drugs like targeted therapies and immunotherapies are now saving thousands of lives every day. This means a lot to me because I have connections to people who have suffered from different kinds of cancer.
I am raising funds for LLS because I believe in helping others. LLS’ mission helps fund research, treatments, and care for those who are battling not only blood cancer, but also other kinds as well. In fact, 60% of known blood cancer treatments are used to help cure other forms of cancer. I am honored to have been given the oppurtunity to be able to help people win their battles with cancer, which can be done by fundraising as much money as possible. LLS is the largest contributor to blood cancer research in the nation and the money we raise will go directly to the organization in support of its longstanding mission to find a cure and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Along with my team, I will work to increase awareness about the impact of blood cancers and the cutting-edge treatments that are currently being researched, as well as inspire others to join the fight to find a cure. Raising awareness is also a large part of this campaign for me because I think it is extremely important to educate others about the effects of blood cancer. Furthermore, I have family members who have suffered from cancer, so I am doing this for them. Most importantly, this campaign is not for my benefit, it is for those who are fighting this terrible disease.
My campaign provides an opportunity to support the critical work of LLS in fighting these diseases and it would mean a lot to me and to those fighting cancer if you would consider donating. As part of my campaign, my team has set up various events for you, the donor, to gain exclusive access to some inspiring celebrities. With a donation of $1,000 or more, you can have the opportunity to sign up for a face-to-face Zoom session with celebrities including tennis icon Billie Jean King and James Beard Award winner Mike Solomonov. Once we have received your donation, you will recieve a separate email with a link to read about the speakers and sign up for the Zoom session of your choice. Each session will be limited to only 12 donors, so the earlier you donate, the more chance you will have to get the session of your choice.
It's really amazing how close we are getting to our goal of a world without blood cancers!
All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. Not only will they support LLS research, but patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services as well.
Please visit my website often and tell friends who would also like to donate!
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you so much for your support! PFor more information about LLS, please visit www.lls.org
