Hey Everyone,

I'm Alex Ogilvie, I'm a Junior at Academy of the Holy Cross!

I am so excited to be a team member in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Students of the Year Campaign and am part of team CUREit! From January 22nd to March 12th, we are working to raise as many funds as possible for this campaign. These funds will help battle blood cancer and other cancers/diseases! 

As you know, everyone wins when cancer loses. Unfortunately, most of us are touched by cancer in some way, often many times in our lives. Thanks to your support, Team CUREit!'s efforts will help fund treatments that are SAVING LIVES. Support from people like you has been responsible for blood cancer research and treatments that have doubled, tripled, and in some cases quadrupled the survival rate for some blood cancers. That is a huge amount, and we're talking about lives! We have the power to save so many lives! That's amazing!
 

Also! This campaign won't only help blood cancer patients. It will be a part of improving the lives of ALL CANCER patients! Many LLS-supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are also now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers. They are also in clinical trials for patients with lung, brain, breast, pancreatic, and prostate cancers. This truly spoke to me and moved me to participate in this campaign because I've had family members who have suffered from these cancers, even though I do not have a close connection to blood cancer. Also, being able to help make a difference and save lives is an incredible opportunity! LLS-funded drugs like targeted therapies and immunotherapies are now saving thousands of lives every day. I am so grateful to be involved with an organization that does this incredible work.
