I am pleased to announce that over the summer, I became a member of Team SWAG (Students With A Goal) for the 2020-2021 Students of the Year campaign! With team leaders Sydney Polly, Anna Macon Corcoran, and Kalle Masci, our team goal is to raise $50,000 and we need your help! 

This is my first year participating in this campaign and I am beyond excited!  Students of the Year (SOY) is a seven-week campaign where highschoolers are motivated to raise the most money to help the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). Over this process, teams from around the country will compete to raise the most money by the end of the seven weeks. The goal of this campaign is not only to raise the most money, but to also educate and inform everyone about blood cancers including Leukemia. With the support of campaigns such as SOY, LLS have made incredible improvements in treatments and support for blood cancer patients.

I joined this campaign because I believe strongly in finding a cure for this awful disease.  Additionally, it is an opportunity for me to exercise leadership, and improve my communication skills and responsibility. So far, this experience has strengthened many life skills that I'll need in my future, and I am so happy to support such a great cause in the process!  Leukemia has impacted my family personally, where relatives and close family members have passed away from this aggressive type of cancer.  I saw how it affected them, and I wanted to take on this opportunity to help

Lastly, as we all know COVID-19 has had a great impact on all of us, but most importantly cancer patients. With their already weakened immune systems, COVID is an even bigger impact on their lives. Your donation will make a huge difference in the life of a cancer patient. Please help as you can, and know that every dollar counts and is greatly appreciated!
