Katy Orndorff | Team May the Cure Be With You

Katy's Students of the Year Fundraiser

Jan 22, 2021

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page, welcome!

Hi! My name is Katy Orndorff and I am currently a senior at Walter Johnson HS in Bethesda, MD. When I was younger I witnessed my friend fight Leukemia and realized how strong she was and how every LLS patient is as well. This is my first year participating in LLS and I have joined the team “May the Cure Be With You!” I am so excited to be able to help find the cure for blood cancer and support patients and their families!

Every year, LLS honors a child hero who is battling or has battled a form of blood cancer. This Year's honored hero, Kory Coates, unfortunately passed away after battling acute myeloid leukemia (AML) for years. Hearing this news was heartbreaking, but it pushed the determination of my team to fight for a cure even further so that fewer families have to suffer the loss of a loved one to cancer. I am excited to share that this year, my personal fundraising goal is $1,000! I am looking forward to the next several weeks to see if I can reach, and possibly exceed, my goal to change the lives of others, and I encourage YOU to join me in supporting LLS by making a donation to my campaign.

As a global leader in the fight to end cancer, LLS is committed to doing more for blood cancer patients and families than any organization in the world. LLS’s signature fundraising campaigns drive critical support for its mission, including a nearly $1.3 billion investment in cutting edge cancer research worldwide since it was founded in 1949. Since the 1960s, survival rates for many blood cancer patients have doubled, tripled, or even quadrupled.

Please visit my website as often as you can and share it with everyone you know who would also like to join us in the fight against cancer. Together, we have the power, the passion and the resolve to achieve a world without blood cancer. All donations are tax-deductible.

On behalf of cancer patients and their families everywhere, I sincerely thank you for your support!
