Right now as a society, we are all experiencing a lot of change, but even though our daily lives and priorities have experienced disruption because of this pandemic, one thing that shouldn’t change for us is our commitment to lifting others up in our community, especially those who are fighting the battle of cancer. There are thousands of blood cancer patients living with their diagnosis in the United States alone. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, which has invested nearly $1.3 billion in cancer research since it started in 1949, funds leading-edge research for every type of blood cancer, including leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and other rare types of blood cancers, and has helped advance a large number of the blood cancer treatment options approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. And this cutting-edge blood cancer research has led to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients.
