Titans 4 a Cure 2.0:

Welcome Friends, Family, and caring People!  This is Team Titans 4 a Cure 2.0's fundraising page and we are so glad you have made it here!  We are a group of students from TC Williams High School looking to make a difference in lives across the nation.  All ten of us have in one way or another been affected by blood cancer, or another type of cancer, and are aware of the toll it can take on the patient and their loved ones.  We are more than excited to embark on a mission with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to spread awareness as well as find a cure for blood cancers!  Our campaign runs from January 11th to March 3rd! We are so thankful for you supporting our cause, and the overall mission to take down blood cancers!

Team Titans 4 a Cure 2.0's Candidates: Bella and Liese Ponzi

Accepted as candidates in the 2018 Students of the Year Campaign, the Ponzi sisters could not be more excited to join forces with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and their fight against blood cancers. They feel it is an honor to work in support of LLS, as they are the largest contributor to blood cancer research in the nation. Today, 1.2 million Americans are fighting or are in remission from blood cancers, and every 3 minutes another person unwillingly joins the fight.  This has to change!

Why are we fighting?

Liese and Bella are fighting in honor of our grandmother, Shirley Ponzi, who passed away from lung cancer in 2016. She was one of the most loving and caring people in our lives, and the best way we can show our love to her now is by working to make sure others do not meet the same fate.  Almost 40 percent of the new cancer drugs approved by the FDA since 2000 were first approved to treat patients with blood cancers.  The research the Leukemia and Lymphoma society contributes towards for blood cancer has been, and will continue to be adapted to other cancers. When we are raising dollars for blood cancer, we are raising dollars for so many other kinds - we know, amazing right!

The Campaign!

During a seven week period (January 11th to March 3rd) they, along with other select high school students, will be participating in a national fundraising competition to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Each dollar is a vote. The candidate team who raises the most money at the end of the seven weeks is named Student of the Year.  Our mission is to not only raise the most money but also to bring attention to blood cancers like leukemia, which is the most common form of cancer in children and teens.

Donate! Donate! Donate!

All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS-funded research but will help provide critical information and support for patients, and support advocacy for laws to ensure patients can access the care and treatments they need.

Since the early 1960s, five-year survival rates for many blood cancer patients have doubled, tripled or even quadrupled. In addition, many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients, but are helping patients with other cancers and serious diseases. We really are changing the face of blood cancer!

Please visit our website often and bring friends who would also like to donate!

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere we thank you for your support!
