My name is Makayla Dickerson, I attend Our Lady of Good Counsel High School on a music scholarship, and welcome to my fundrasing page!

I am honored to have been chosen to be a member of my dear friend, Lyndsay Hamill's team. I ask all of you to please join me in supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) by making a donation to my fundraising campaign.

I am raising money because cancer has had an effect on my family. My mom's father, who we call Pop suffers from prostate cancer, and seeing the impacts of cancer sadens me. If I can do anything to prevent others from suffering from any form of cancer, I will. Cancer is the second leading cause of death in the United States. LLS's continued advancements over the years, are responsible for the blood cancer survival rate doubling and tripling; in some cases, the survival rate has even quadrupled. I hope that with my efforts, the numbers will continuously rise and that eventually cancer will no longer be a concern. Many people have been impacted by this terrible disease and I will try my best to make a difference in finding a cure.

All donations are tax deductible and 100% of the donated amount goes directly to my campaign, no administrative fees. Thanks to your support, my efforts, will help fund the therapies and treatments as well as helping save many lives today. They'll not only support LLS research but patient services, advocacy, public education, professional education, and community services.

I am honored to be part of something bigger than myself and I am looking forward to the commitment and dedication I am putting into this campaign in order to help find a cure.
