Welcome To My Fundraising Page!
My name is Julia Schopper and I have been given the opportunity to participate in the Student of the Year seven week fundraising challenge benefitting the Leukemia Lymphoma Society (LLS). I am so excited to join the battle and make a difference in the lives of patients across the country. The campaign is January 11th-March 3rd.
We are honoring those who have battled blood cancers and raising money that will go directly to LLS in support of its mission to find a cure and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. There is no prevention or screening for blood cancer, so research needs to be conducted to find treatments and cures. LLS has invested over $1 billion in research to date. My team and I will work to increase awareness about the impact of blood cancers and the cutting edge treatments that are currently being researched, as well as inspire others to join the fight to find a cure.
A lot of people in my family have had to battle cancer, and although I did not really understand what was happening because I was younger, I understand now, the love and support people diagnosed with cancer need. Organizations such as LLS can help make the fight against cancer easier because they really care about patients and are working hard to find better treatments and curs. The research LLS is doing often contributes to advancements in treatments for other types of cancer. Almost half of FDA approved treatments since 2000 were first used to treat blood cancer.
Leukemia still causes more deaths than any other cancer among children under the age of 20. Our campaign provides an opportunity to support the critical work of LLS in fighting these diseases. It would mean a lot to me if you would consider donating to our campaign. I greatly appreciate anything you can give.
