Welcome to Team Juliana's fundraising page! Team Juliana was started a Students of the Year Campaign last year by Julia Elman and Grace Barnes last year. Since their graduation in 2019 from Washington-Liberty High School, the year Juliana should have graduated, Molly Wernicke and Elissa Hall have taken over as candidates to continue to honor her legacy.

Juliana was diagnosed with an extremely rare type of leukemia [Mixed phenotype-AML/T-Cell ALL] on June 24, 2015.  Despite the aggressive treatment that she received, we lost her to this monster of a disease just two months later. She was 14 years old. Juliana was a truly incredible daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend. She touched so many lives in her way too short time here on Earth.

We need your help! Our team goal is to raise $30,000 dollars to help LLS's life-saving work. It's a lofty goal, but with your we can do it! Every single dollar helps so that we can cure blood cancers!

Molly Wernicke is a sophomore at Washington-Liberty High School in Arlington, Virginia. She lives with her two parents, her little brother and little sister, and her amazing dog, Rocky. She is a part of her school’s Student Council Association as well as the Madrigals choir. She is a coxswain on Washington-Liberty’s women’s crew team and on the Potomac Boat Club Men’s Sweep. Outside of school, she is an avid political activist, protesting for gender equality and for an end to gun violence as Social Media Co-Director for the Northern Virginia chapter of March for Our Lives. Molly has several personal ties to this cause, and joins in efforts to make an impact in people’s lives, and is very grateful for the opportunity to be a part of such an important cause with this incredible organization.

Elissa Hall is a sophomore at Washington-Liberty High School and lives in Arlington, Virginia with her parents and amazing cat Nkisi. Her older brother, Noah, is currently attending Temple University to study bassoon. She is a member of SCA and also is apart of the Best Buddies club at her school. She does Cross Country and Track and Field, as well as competitive dance with Perfect Pointe Dance Studio. Elissa lost both of her maternal grandparents to cancer, so she is joining the campaign in hopes that one day no one will ever have to suffer from cancer again.

All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. With your donation, you’re not only support LLS research but patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services as well. Together WE CAN FIND A CURE!
