Welcome to Margaret Pfohl's SOY Fundraising Page!

Hello everyone! My name is Megan Pfohl and I am a sophomore at Georgetown Visitation. I play for the school's ice hockey team in the winter, as well as for a club team, and am in student government.  My favorite subjects are literature, French, and history. I am a part of the Lukemia Lymphoma Society due to my concern for others and the community, and my enjoyment of meeting new people through opportunities like this.

This experience will help me grow in leadership skills and cause me to be more aware of other campaigns like LLS and how i can help them. Bring on the seven weeks! #S.W.A.T 3.0

Welcome To My Fundraising Page!

I am honored to be participating in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) 2020 Students of the Year (SOY) campaign, a seven-week initiative in which high school students from around the country are nominated to participate in a fundraising competition to benefit LLS’s mission: to find a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

I am raising funds in honor of Kelly Brodnik, a former member of the Visitation community who passed away last year, and those who are currently battling or are in remission from a blood cancer. Each dollar is a vote and the team that raises the most money at the end of the seven weeks is named Students of the Year. As a team, our mission is to not only raise the most money but also to bring attention to blood cancers like leukemia, which is the most common form of cancer in children and teens.

My personal goal is to raise $10,000 dollars to ultimately contribute to the team goal of $100,000. This will help to raise awareness for these Blood Cancers, and to unite the community where these cancers are present.

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere I thank you for your support!
