Hey friends and family! Currently, I am in 10th grade at Georgetown Visitation and am an editor for our yearbook, playing travel field hockey, and enjoying spending time with my sister. I am excited to be on S.W.A.T. 3.0 and have this opportunity to raise money for a wonderful cause. Being on this team has been a wonderful experience for me and I look forward to the rest of the campaign! 

Our team has put in lots of work over the last couple of months and are ready for the campaign to kick off.

During this campaign, I am raising money for my close family friends who both beat Cancer. One of them, Julia, was diagnosed with brain cancer pretty young and battled many rounds of chemo and has currently been in remission for many years. Julia is one of the brightest people I know and is always smiling. She is a wonderful example of how cancer treatments are getting better and better and hopefully, we are getting closer to a cure. 

I am honored to be participating in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) 2020 Students of the Year (SOY) campaign, a seven-week initiative in which high school students from around the country are nominated to participate in a fundraising competition to benefit LLS’s mission: to find a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

I am personally raising money for a family friend who beat Leukemia, my grandmother and close family friend who also beat cancer, and all the other families who have to go through a battle with cancer at any point in their life. My teams, S.W.A.T. 3.0, goal is to raise as much money as we can to help support LLS in ending blood cancers. All donations go directly to research to find a cure and are completely tax deductible. As a team we are competing against many other teams in the DC area and the team that raises the most money at the end of the 7 weeks will be named the students of the year. While our goal is to raise as much money as possible, our goal is also to bring awareness to blood cancers especially in teens and children. 

My personal goal is $10,000 but as a team we are aiming to raise $75,000. Donating will greatly help those battling cancer and their families to help them find new treatments that will hopefully lead to finding a cure. All donations are greatly appreciated by my team as well as those battling cancer. With your help WE CAN FIND A CURE!
